What a treat to hear this again. :-)
Having experienced this live show first hand (and at close quarters) I have been eagerly awaiting this release and the revisit certainly doesn't disappoint.
Zofff are a continually developing band and the depth and complexity of their improvisations both bloom and mature with every performance as new synapses fuse and neurons are stimulated, grafting psychedelia onto krautrock and ambient soundscapes.
I really hope this gets a vinyl release.

"...These guys seem to have music flowing through their very veins - the sonic extemporising strikes as being organic and integral... nothing forced or 'out of place'. Zofff's particular brand of psychedelia takes in space rock (courtesy of some sci-fi electronica), krautrock motorik rhythms and some seriously heavy fuzzed out guitars at times. However, certainly on the basis of this live recording, they almost defy categorisation such are the breadth of influences on show; some PiL drums circa 'Flowers of Romance' sit cheek by jowl with some Tangerine Dream swathes of luscious synth; some seriously good guitar flinging is underscored by what sounds like an organ a la Iron Butterfly. These guys mix and match but the result is never anything less than an exhilarating ride through the psychedelic arena. My only regret is that I wasn't one of those transfixed in the Kozfest audience." ~ dayzofpurpleandorange.blogspot.co.uk
"...Zofff seem to have a philosophy of experimentation and playing in the moment. This certainly comes through in this forty minute plus live set from last year’s Kozfest. Experimentation can sometime mean lack of accessibility but this is not the case with Zofff. You are drawn into the music, and the next hook is never far away. This is music that is continually on the move, and I expect that no two performances are the same. More than this I think that Zofff are genre-defying. Yes the tracks are strung-out like space rock; but this isn’t space rock. Yes the band takes you on a sonic inner journey but it isn’t psychedelia as you have known it before. This feels fresh, out of time and in that moment. Yes this is experimental but not in a way that is wilfully and deliberately abstract. Sure the band are going to be influenced by what they hear from elsewhere but that is refracted through a prism that allows this to coalesce into something else altogether on the other side. In one sense this music could also be classed as electronica given the emphasis on that sort of sound in places but (and this is one of the reasons I really like it) just when you think you’ve got a handle on it the sound moves somewhere else…"
